Joan & Ed are so kind and just lovely together. We really enjoyed getting to spend their wedding day with them and getting to meet their friends and family. We had met some of Ed’s family before at his cousin Tetie’s wedding that we photographed in 2009. We are always so touched to get a referral from our Union members (thanks, Tetie & Miguel!). We discovered that we had another connection with Ed – he studied photography at Langarra just like Roger did! We tried to keep our photography geek talk to a minimum during the portrait session so that we didn’t bore Joan too much!

Joan & Ed had their ceremony at the Celebration Pavilion in QE Park.  Their morning wedding ceremony was intimate with just close family and friends. In the afternoon we worked like little bees in order to create a slideshow of the morning’s images for Joan & Ed to show at their reception. At their banquet at Kirin City Square Restaurant they had many more guests than were at the ceremony so it was nice for them to see some pictures from the morning. To do something fun for their guests, Joan & Ed had trivia questions about themselves that their MC read out. The first guest to text the correct answer to the MC won a prize. Isn’t that  great idea? All in all, we had an excellent day with Joan & Ed. The time zoomed right by.

Queenie & Tim hired a fantastic team to help them carry out their wedding. It was a pleasure for us  to work  again with Erik & his team from Love Story Media (be sure to head over to his blog to see his fantastic highlight reel of the wedding). Lori Fraser from Lori Fraser Signature Events was their wedding planner. Lori won the Best Wedding Event Planning  Award at the 2010 BC Wedding Awards with Queenie & Tim’s wedding. Queenie & Lori worked with Art of the Party who helped create the gorgeous decor which was all inspired by their giant wedding cake (the biggest we’ve ever seen!). Rosalba from Rose’s Flowers & Gifts created all of their beautiful flowers. We were pretty excited when we found out that Roger’s picture of Queenie & Tim’s head table was in the latest issue of WedLuxe Magazine.

All in all it was a superb and unforgettable day. Thank you so much, Queenie & Tim, for sharing your amazing wedding day with us. Congratulations!

Tim and his groomsmen surprised their guests by dancing to “All the Single Ladies” before the boquet toss. Needless to say, it was hilarious.

I loved how Wendy & Rishi brought aprons for everyone and even hilarious bibs for themselves, so they could enjoy the yummy Japadogs without worrying about messing up their fancy outfits.

Wendy & Rishi love street art and asked to do portraits in this incredible alleyway. We were so happy to shoot in such an inspiring space!

It was a pleasure for us to work again with Erik and his crew from Love Story Media. Erik did a same day edit of Tetie and Miguel’s wedding which they showed at the reception. I love how Roger captured such a beautiful moment between Tetie and her bridesmaids.

The orange ribbons on the flower girls’ shoes were so sweet.

Don’t you just love the orange bridesmaid dresses?

Instead of clinking their glasses, Tetie & Miguel asked their guests to sing in order for them to kiss. Tetie’s adorable nieces kept on singing “This is the song that doesn’t end”, which was hilarious.
