Lucy & Don’s Sunshine Coast Wedding

What a lovely day we had with Lucy and Don at their wedding at the stunning Rockwater Secret Cove Resort on the sunshine coast. The resort is in such a beautiful spot with big gorgeous rocks and amazing views of the ocean. What we loved the most about Lucy and Don’s wedding was that with 6 kids between them, they were the coming together of two families, like a modern day Brady Bunch. The kids kept us all entertained being their hilarious and lively selves. It was a pleasure as well to work again with Laura and her crew of Laura Ann Cinema. The girls also had a moment before coming down the aisle, telling each other that they should go first. It was adorable.

I love how they quickly decided to go down the aisle together.

When I saw the photo on the right which was taken at the same time as Roger captured Lucy and Don’s first kiss, I couldn’t stop laughing at the crazy expression on their son’s face! I so wish I had focused on the kids during the first kiss.

I love how Roger and I each took a photo of Lucy’s veil on the boardwalk and how each photo is different!

Aren’t Lucy & Don so sweet together? I love this little moment between them.

Note to self: always pick up a shell and listen for the sound of the ocean just like little Mr. D did.

August Break Week 4

How is it the end of August already? There is a definite hint of fall in the air here and I have to say that I am not ready for it yet. Don’t get me wrong, I love fall with it’s lovely light and gorgeous colours. I just want more hot hot sun. I’ve had so much fun playing along with Susannah Conway’s August Break. Here are a few pics from our last days of August.

August Break Week 3.5

Here’s a few bits and bobs from the last week and a half for Susannah Conway’s August Break. Our week was filled with lots of time working away on our computers (which means that we will be posting weddings up here in a jiffy!). I still can’t believe it is almost the end of August!! Time really does fly when you are having fun. Hopefully the warm summer sun will stick around a little while longer!

On Sunday night we went to the fantasticly delicious Swallow Tail Supper Club for dinner to celebrate 8 years of our togetherness. We had an incredible meal in a beautiful setting and we met some wonderful people. It was a great night out.

August Break Week 2

What a beautiful 2nd week of August we had. We went on an amazing adventure with dear friends down a long and dusty road to incredible natural hot springs. It was such a relaxing and fun time. The rest of the week we happily worked away in the studio. On Friday we had a surprise night out with a friend who was visiting in town. We had lots of lovely belly laughs together. Saturday we didn’t have a wedding so we were able to make it to our local farmer’s market and get oodles of yummy yummy treats. We will eat like royalty for the upcoming week for sure! Here are a few pics to share our 2nd week of August with you as we play along with the August Break!

August Break Week 1

Can you believe the first week of August is over already?? Is it just us or is time just zooming right by. It has been fun for me this week to take pictures for the August Break with the iPhone to capture and remember the moments.

Alayne & Daragh’s Engagement Photos

It feels funny posting Alayne & Daragh’s engagement photos after their wedding. But since they live in London we were only able to have them both in Vancouver and available for an engagement session a week before their wedding. We walked around Coal Harbour with them so they could have some Vancouver views for their photos.

August Break

We have so many wonderful weddings to share with you. Our July was filled with a whole lot of love and laughter at work and at home. We keep on pinching each other, feeling so thankful and full of joy for the work that we get to do. Every time we look at the calender to see whose wedding is next on our horizon, we get all excited, thinking about sharing such a special moment in each couple’s life together. Soon we will be posting the weddings up here, we promise!

In the meantime I thought it would be fun to play along with the amazing Susannah Conway and her August Break. It will be a blast to make some photos as a way to be present and enjoy each day. You can play along too! My favourite part about the August Break is that there are no rules! I’m really loving using my iPhone these days to capture moments in our life together. Here are a few pics I took yesterday as we celebrated National Swiss Day with Roger’s parents. It was a rare treat for us to have 2 days off this long weekend. We forgot what it is like to enjoy a long weekend in the summer. We slept in, enjoyed time with friends and family, had a spontaneous date, and we made some yummy brunch. Life is good for us. It really truly is.

And We’re Off

H & R (aka Hoger aka Roger and I) are taking off today for some much needed R & R on beautiful Hornby Island. We learned several years ago to take a holiday at the beginning, the middle and the end of the wedding season. It is so important to us to get some rest so we can keep our energy up and be able to give each and every client our very best. We’ll be back on Friday in time for two very special weddings on the weekend. We will be checking our emails periodically while we are away in between lying on the beach and giggling with our dear friends who we will be with. We’re looking forward to enjoying some summer sun. Enjoy the week ahead.

Happy Anniversary to My Favourite Sister!

Happy Anniversary, April & Dennis! We can’t believe it has been a year already since your incredible wedding, which was definitely one of the most magical days in my life (not just because I got to see you get wed AND I got to eat deep fried parmesan cheese which I’m still drooling about!). You two are just so wonderful together. We hope you are having a fabulous anniversary in Napa. We can’t wait to see you on Friday!

Crystal & Richard’s Sun Yut Sen Wedding

On Tuesday afternoon last week we received a phone call from Crystal inquiring about our photography rates. When I asked her when her wedding day was and she answered “Tomorrow!”, I almost fell over! I couldn’t help but giggle! Crystal and Richard came by the studio Tuesday afternoon and booked us for their elopement on Wednesday afternoon! It was amazing to see how they managed to pull the wedding together in just 2 days, with musicians, flowers, tuxedos, a white dress, rings and us! Crystal & Richard had their ceremony at the Sun Yut Sen Garden in China Town. We had never been inside the garden before and we were blown away at how pretty it is in there! After the ceremony we took Crystal & Richard to Gastown for some portraits. It was a whirlwind couple of hours and soo much fun for us to work with this lovely couple who just couldn’t wait! Congratulations Crystal & Richard!
