For Clara & Scott’s engagement session we headed to Deer Lake Park which was where Scott proposed to Clara. Clara & Scott are so so sweet and really lovely to be around. They are so gentle and kind. We really love the way that they look each other – their joy for each other is infectious. When Clara & Scott first came to meet with us, Clara very sweetly forewarned us that she is most likely going to cry on her wedding day. We looked at her and told her not to worry as I always cry at weddings too. Roger loves teasing me about it.
We all brought along a few fun props to help create a picnic in the park theme. Roger also brought along his 4×5 inch large format Sinar camera. Clara & Scott kindly agreed to have Roger take their portrait with the 4×5 at the end of the session. It is one of Roger’s favourite cameras and he is having so much fun lately bringing it out to play with. There is something special about using that camera. It takes time to compose a photo and when the subject can’t see the photographer behind the camera their interaction with the camera changes. We love how the photos turned out – you can see them at the bottom of this post.
